Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Level Two Chimney Pasadena Guarantee
We stand behind every chimney we touch in Pasadena. Since 2009, we’ve inspected and cleaned more than 38,000 chimneys, and every single job started with a written price and ended with a documented photo record. That’s not marketing language. It’s Clause 1 and Clause 4 of the Haven Standard, and we’ve operated under it since day one. When we say we’ll do something, we put it in writing before we start, we do what we wrote, and if we didn’t get it right, we come back and make it right. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every repair, every sweep, every liner installation in Pasadena, Altadena, and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley. No exceptions, no fine print that turns into a fight.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship on every repair and installation. If a joint smokes, a cap leaks, or a liner shifts within 365 days of completion, we return and fix it at no charge. This is the core of our Done Right Promise, stamped on every job under the Haven Standard.
- Parts and materials sourced through Haven’s buying network. We use flue liners from DuraFlex and Olympia Chimney, refractory materials from HeatShield, caps and crowns from Gelco and Famco, and specialty components from Copperfield. These aren’t generic substitutes. They’re the same materials we specify in your written scope, and we stand behind their proper installation.
- Site condition after we leave. We lay protective sheeting, HEPA-filter our equipment, and remove every trace of soot and debris. If we tracked it in, we clean it up. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires a photo record on every job, and that includes the condition we leave your home in.
- On-time arrival with a named, background-checked technician. You’ll know who’s coming, you’ll get a text when they’re on the way, and they’ll arrive in a marked uniform with their license information visible. H.A.V.E.N. stands for Have it in writing, Arrive on schedule, Verified crews, Exact price, Never leave a mess. We didn’t acronym that after the fact. We’ve operated by it since 2009.
- Honest pricing with zero invoice surprises. The written price you approve before we start is the price you pay. Not a penny more. We don’t “find” problems that weren’t in the quote, and we don’t start work hoping you’ll feel pressured to say yes. Haven Standard Clause 1 requires the written price, written scope, and written warranty delivered before anyone enters your home. That’s how we’ve always done it in Pasadena.
Our Satisfaction Promise

If something isn’t right, tell us. We’ll make it right. That’s the entire 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s not a department you have to fight through. Call (213) 459-6058 any time, day or night. A live person answers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No voicemail maze, no “leave a message and we’ll call back Tuesday.” You’ll speak to someone who can pull your job record, review your photos, and dispatch the same technician or a senior crew lead to your home in Pasadena.
We don’t argue about whether the issue exists. We look at the photo record from your original visit, compare it to what you’re seeing now, and determine what needs to happen. Sometimes it’s a quick adjustment. Sometimes we need to reorder a part. Either way, you don’t pay again for our mistake or for a material that failed prematurely. The only cost to you is the time it takes us to return, and we work hard to keep that short. Most callbacks in the Pasadena area are scheduled within 48 hours.
If you’re not satisfied with how a concern was handled, Corrine Halstead, Owner, reviews it personally. There’s no escalation to a regional office or out-of-state call center. This is an independently owned and operated business under the Haven Standard, and the owner lives with the reputation we build on every job in this community.
Before
AfterLicensed & Insured Backing
Our license and insurance aren’t wall decorations. They’re the financial backing that makes our guarantee real. When we say we’ll make it right, we need the resources to do so, and our licensing and insurance status ensures those resources exist. Being state-licensed means we’ve met California’s requirements for chimney and fireplace contractor work, including the technical knowledge to identify hazards like compromised flue liners, deteriorated smoke chambers, and Class III creosote buildup that poses genuine fire risk. Being insured and bonded means if something goes wrong despite our precautions, you’re not pursuing a homeowner’s claim against your own policy.
Every technician carries their license information on the job. You can verify it. You should verify it. In Pasadena, where many homes date to the 1920s through 1950s and chimneys have seen decades of earthquakes, settling, and previous repairs of varying quality, working with an unlicensed sweep isn’t a gamble worth taking. Our documentation protects you, and our credentials protect the promise behind it.
Free Second Opinion on Any Written Estimate

Bring us a competitor’s written quote. We’ll review it against what we find in your chimney, and we’ll tell you straight whether their scope matches your actual condition. We’ve seen estimates in Pasadena for full liner replacements when a HeatShield resurfacing would handle the issue, and we’ve seen “cleaning” quotes that don’t include a camera inspection to see what they’re actually cleaning. Our second opinion costs nothing, and it comes with the same written price, written scope, and photo documentation we provide on every job. No obligation to hire us afterward.
What You Walk Away With
Every visit ends with documentation you can keep: photos of your flue interior, your crown, your damper assembly, and any areas of concern; camera footage from the NFPA 211 Level 2 inspection; a written scope of any recommended work; a written price for that work; and a written warranty summary. This isn’t an optional add-on. Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires a photo record on every job, and we’ve maintained that practice since 2009. When you call back in three years, we can pull your record and show you exactly what your chimney looked like last time.
Common Questions About Our Guarantee

How long does the Done Right Promise last?
365 days from completion of the work. If we repair your crown in October and it leaks the following March, we come back and fix it. Call (213) 459-6058 for an exact appointment time.
Does the guarantee cover materials I bought myself?
Our workmanship guarantee covers parts and materials we source and install through Haven’s buying network. If you supply your own cap, liner, or component, we can install it, but we can’t warranty the material itself. We’ll note this clearly in your written scope before we start.
What if I just don’t like how something looks?
Tell us. The Done Right Promise covers work that doesn’t meet reasonable standards for the job specified. If the aesthetic finish isn’t what you expected based on the written scope, we’ll discuss it and find a resolution. We don’t hide behind “that’s not covered” when the real issue is communication.
Do I need to keep my paperwork?
We keep digital records of every job, but keeping your copy helps. Your written price, scope, and warranty summary are your reference if questions arise. The photo record we provide is yours to keep and review.
How do I start a claim under the guarantee?
Call (213) 459-6058. A live person answers, 24/7. We’ll pull your job record, review the photo documentation, and schedule a return visit. Most callbacks in Pasadena are resolved in a single trip.
Why We Built the Haven Standard This Way
Corrine Halstead started Level Two Chimney Co. in 2009 after seeing too many Pasadena homeowners stuck with vague verbal quotes, surprise charges, and no proof of what was actually done in their chimney. The Haven Standard grew from specific practices: always write the price first, always photograph the work, always send a verified crew, always answer the phone. Those practices became clauses because they worked, and they keep working because we enforce them on ourselves before any customer has to ask.
We’ve completed more than 38,000 chimney inspections and cleanings under this standard. Every one had a written price before work started and a documented record when it was done. That’s not a projection. It’s the count, and we’re still adding to it.
